OverPower: World of Legends – illustration / ilustração (5)

Now that OverPower: World of Legends collectible card game has been released, I wanted to round out the spotlight of my main illustrations for the project with this Allan Quartermain card, which was the 2nd card I drew, back in 2024.
The hero of H. Rider Haggard’s 1885 novel King Solomon’s Mines, Allan Quartermain is the archetipe for the wilderness adventurer and was adapted to every entertainment medium there is, portraid by ten actors in film. And most famous in comics by his addition to The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Here, we see him tracking mythical hero Hercules, and given the dimensions of the card it was difficult to fit the character and the Hercules insert in a way that both would be noticible. This is probably the card the I liked the most.

Rider Haggard, As Minas do Rei Salomão, de 1885, Allan Quartermain é o arquétipo do caçador aventureiro e adaptado a todos os meios de entretenimento existentes, retratado por dez actores no cinema. É famoso também na banda desenhada pela sua entrada n’A Liga de Cavalheiros Extraordinários.

Aqui, vemo-lo a perseguir o herói mítico Hércules, e dadas as dimensões da carta foi difícil encaixar a personagem e a vinheta com Hércules de forma a que ambos fossem perceptíveis. Esta é, provavelmente, a carta de que mais gostei.
