A Matter of Right: The Future of Justice [Variance Media]

Coordinated by writer/publisher Travis Johnson, A Matter of Right: The Future of Justice is a comics anthology of speculative fiction, dedicated to addressing the social issues regarding the U.S.A.’s present ethnical and stratum conflicts. America is at a crucial moment; will it continue to live under an unjust system of law enforcement or will it seize the moment and change for the better? “Equality before law in a true democracy is a matter of right. Produced in 2020, the project was succesfully financed via Kickstarter and gathers a diverse group of international writers and artists, that partnered up to create short comics in B/W, all of an interventionist nature but that also cross through other genres, such as sci-fi, action and slice-of-life. Among the authors are various renown talents, and several portuguese artists, like Pedro Potier, Rafael Siopa, Susana Resende and myself.

Coordenado pelo escritor/editor Travis Johnson, A Matter of Right: The Future of Justice é uma antologia de BD de ficção especulativa, dedicada a abordar questões sociais alusivas aos actuais conflitos étnicos e de classes nos EUA. A América está a passar um momento crucial; continuará a viver sob um sistema (de aplicação) de lei injusto ou irá aproveitar o momento e mudar para melhor? “A igualdade perante a lei numa verdadeira democracia é uma questão de direito. Produzido em 2020, o projeto foi financiado com sucesso via Kickstarter e reúne um grupo diverso de argumentistas e artistas internacionais, que se uniram para criar bandas desenhadas curta em P/B, todas de teor intervencionista, mas que também se cruzam por outros géneros, como a ficção científica, acção ou a narrativa quotidiana. Entre os autores encontram-se vários talentos de renome, e vários artistas portugueses, tais como Pedro Potier, Rafael Siopa, Susana Resende e eu próprio.
