Cthulhu Sadino [C.M.Setúbal/Montesinos]

All to R'Lyeh... sorry, Setúbal! Cthulhu Sadino, a "sword and sandal" fantasy that mixes biblical mysticism, Lovecraftian eldritch gods, Portuguese folklore and local gastronomic traditions, was written by Pedro Vieira Moura and drawn by Marco Gomes and Daniel Maia (interlude), with subtitles by Cláudia Loureiro, plus cover by João Lemos, illustrations by Bertho Horn and João Sequeira, and design by Playground Atelier.

This comic book one-shot, part of the 9th Festival of Ilustration of Setúbal, which concludes on November 30th, was created in partnership between publisher Montesinos and Setúbal Municipality, and presented on Saturday, 25th, at 16pm, at Michel Giacometti Labor Museum.

Todos a R'Lyeh... perdão, Setúbal! Cthulhu Sadino, uma fantasia "espadas & sandálias" que mistura misticismo bíblico, deuses eldritch Lovecraftianos, folclore português e tradições gastronómicas locais, foi escrita por Pedro Vieira Moura e desenhada por Marco Gomes e Daniel Maia (interlúdio), com legendagem por Cláudia Loureiro, mais capa de João Lemos, ilustrações adicionais por Bertho Horn e João Sequeira, e design por Playground Atelier.

Esta edição de banda desenhada, inserida na 9ª Festa de Ilustração de Setúbal, que conclui a 30 de Novembro, é uma revista criada em parceria entre Montesinos e o Município de Setúbal, sendo apresentada no dia 25, Sábado, às 16h, no Museu do Trabalho Michel Giacometti.

The retrospective exhibition with autographs and book signings from JuveBêDê magazine opened last week and will be held until 11/25, at Portalegre Municipal Library. Here are photos of the show, where I participate with a drawing published in 2022. The event also released a exhibit catalogue, with these exclusive artworks, titled 1st JuveBêDê exhibition: Drawn Autographs.

A exposição retrospectiva de autógrafos e dedicatórias da revista JuveBêDê foi inaugurada na semana passada e mantém-se até 25/11, na Biblioteca Municipal de Portalegre. Aqui fica fotos da mostra, em que participo com desenho editado em 2022. A iniciativa também lançou um catálogo de exposição, com estas artes exclusivas, intitulado 1º Exposição JuveBêDê: Autógrafos Desenhados. 

34th AmadoraBD – Remarks / Autógrafos

Having contributed to the 34th Amadora BD comics festival through a couple of hours of book signing, here’s a few remarks I snapshoted at the session. Thanks, again, to the readers who stood in line and waited for my autographs.

Tendo contribuído para o 34º festival Amadora BD através de um par de horas de sessão de autógrafos, eis alguns dos rabiscos que fotografei na ocasião. Obrigado, mais uma vez, aos leitores que esperaram na fila por autógrafos.

34th Amadora BD – Photos / Fotos

My thanks to the readers that visited me at the 34th Amadora BD comics festival, where I signed various recent releases. It was a short stay for me, this year, but always a pleasure to meet fans and cross paths with fellow artists.
Publisher Ala dos Livros also presented, with writter Marco Calhorda, the upcoming CoBrA graphic novel, a new adventure by another artist (as mentioned before, this series features stand-alone stories, each with a different artist), for release in 2024.

Finally, I was also pleased to be part of Assoc. Tentáculo's anthology Zona: Dez Anos/Ten Years, which won as Best Independent Publication in Amadora Comics Awards. Congratulations, to all!

O meu obrigado aos leitores que me visitaram no 34º festival Amadora BD, em que assinei vários lançamentos recentes. Foi uma estadia curta para mim este ano, mas é sempre um prazer privar com fãs e roçar-ombros com outros artistas.
A editora Ala dos Livros também apresentou, com o escritor Marco Calhorda, o próximo álbum CoBrA, uma nova aventura por outro artista (como já mencionei, esta série é composta por histórias independentes, cada qual com um artista diferente), para lançamento em 2024.

Por fim, estou também feliz por integrar a antologia Zona: Dez Anos, da Associação Tentáculo, que venceu a categoria Melhor Publicação Independente nos Prémios de BD da Amadora. Parabéns a todos!

1º JuveBêDê – Exhibition / Exposição

JuveBêDê magazine is a biannual title dedicated to the announcement and reporting of the Portuguese comics world, which existing since April 1997 and coordinated by the JuveMédia association. After publishing a special edition (#88) in 2022, which commemorated its 25th Anniversary, JuveMedia is now promoting, in Portalegre, its 1st collective exhibition, that presents a retrospective of the exclusive drawn autographs that were collected over the years, by portuguese and international authors.
Opened at the Portalegre Municipal Library, Saturday, November 4th (4pm), with the presence of authors Luís Louro and João Sequeira, the occasion will also feature a colloquium about comics.

A revista JuveBêDê é um título semestral dedicado à divulgação e reportagem do mundo da banda desenhada portuguesa, que existe desde Abril de 1997, coordenado pela associação JuveMédia. Após publicar em 2022 uma edição especial (#88) comemorativa do 25º Aniversário, o JuveMedia promove agora, em Portalegre, a sua 1ª exposição colectiva, que faz uma retrospectiva dos autógrafos desenhados exclusivos que reuniu ao longo dos anos, por autores nacionais e internacionais.
Inaugurada na Biblioteca Municipal de Portalegre, Sábado, 4 de Novembro (16h), com a presença dos autores Luís Louro e João Sequeira, a ocasião contará ainda com uma conversa sobre BD.
