Revealed in the recent Rodada de Lives/Round of Lives, Thiago Modenesi’s Brazilian publisher Quadriculando, announced it will publish CoBrA: Operation Goa. The release is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2024, which will mark the debut of this graphic novel beyond Portuguese borders.

The announcement highlights the work’s excellent reception, now also being among the rare Portuguese books released in foreign markets. Published in April 2022, CoBrA: Op. Goa was the most nominated portuguese comic of that editorial cycle, with nominations for Best Graphic Novel by Portuguese Author (33rd Amadora BD Awards), Best Portuguese Publication and Best Portuguese Artist (XIX Trophies Central Comics), Best Illustration in a Portuguese Work (4th Comics Prize), Best Portuguese Writer (2nd Vinhetas d'Ouro) and Best Geek Graphic Novel (5th Geeks d'Ouro), aside being the one with most literary reviews, totaling over 15, in portuguese newspapers, news websites and specialized blogs, and on SIC sindicated channel's prime time news, and also included in lists of the best graphic novels of 2022.

Next, CoBrA: Operation Conacri - Part 1, written by Marco Calhorda and drawn by Zoran Jovicic, is presented in April 2024, with the conclusion, CoBrA: Operation Conacri - Part 2, drawn by Osvaldo Medina, scheduled for April 2025. The series concludes in CoBrA: Operation Lisbon, in production.

Revelado na recente Rodada de Lives, a editora brasileira Quadriculando, de Thiago Modenesi, anunciou ir editar CoBrA: Operação Goa. O lançamento está previsto no final de 2024, num volume que marca a estreia desta banda desenhada além das fronteiras lusitanas.
O anúncio sublinha a grande recepção da obra, contando-se agora entre as raras edições portuguesas a merecer projecção no estrangeiro. Publicada em Abril de 2022, CoBrA: Op. Goa foi a mais nomeada obra nacional desse ciclo editorial, com indicações para Melhor Obra de Banda Desenhada por Autor Português (33º Prémio BD de Amadora), Melhor Publicação Portuguesa e Melhor Desenhador Português (XIX Troféus Central Comics), Melhor Ilustração em Obra Nacional (4º Prémio Bandas Desenhadas), Melhor Argumento de Autor Português (2º Vinhetas d'Ouro) e Melhor Banda Desenhada Geek (5º Geeks d'Ouro), sendo também a que mais análises literárias obteve, somando mais de 15 resenhas, em jornais nacionais, websites noticiosos e blogues especializados, e no telejornal de prime time do canal SIC, e igualmente incluída em listas das melhores publicações BD de 2022.

O próximo livro, CoBrA: Operação Conacri - Parte 1, escrito por Marco Calhorda e desenhado por Zoran Jovicic, é apresentado em Abril de 2024, com a conclusão, CoBrA: Operação Conacri - Parte 2, com desenho de Osvaldo Medina, previsto para Abril de 2025. A série conclui em CoBrA: Operação Lisboa, actualmente em concepção.

II TCC:HD – Winners / Vencedores

It is with pleasure that I share the results of the II Trophy Central Comics: Heroes of the Decade, in which “Infante Portugal in Gathered Universes” was elected winner of category Best Short Comic of the Decade. Thank you to all the readers who supported us and voted for the work.

The comic was written by José de Matos-Cruz, adapting to sequential art the characters and fictional world he created in 2004, drawn by me with an artistic cameo by Susana Resende and partial inking by Daniel Henriques, plus special participations by the late masters José Ruy and José Garcês. In 2018, it was nominated for Best Independent Publication (runner-up) and won as Best Short Comic, a feat we repeated in II TCC:HD.
I would like to take this opportunity to announce that an expanded reedition of the story is in production, to be published as an book format later this year.

The other winners of the II TCC:HD were: Balad for Sophie (Best Portuguese Publication of the Decade), Filipe Melo (Best Portuguese Writer of the Decade), Luís Louro ((Best Portuguese Artist of the Decade), Filipe Andrade (Best International Author of the Decade), Chronicles of Enerelis: Volume 03 - Shadows (Best Independent Publication of the Decade) and Watchmen (Best Foreign Publication of the Decade). A BD foi escrita por José de Matos-Cruz, adaptando à arte sequencial as personagens e mundo ficcional que criou em 2004, desenhada por mim com cameo artístico da Susana Resende e arte-final parcial de Daniel Henriques, mais participações especiais dos saudosos mestres José Ruy e José Garcês. Em 2018, a obra foi nomeada para Melhor Publicação Independente (runner-up) e venceu em Melhor Obra Curta, feito que repetiu neste II TCC:HD.
