Following yesterday’s announcement, here’s
a six page preview of Dark Horse Comics’
X #11, which comes out in March 2014.

On a personal note: I’m happy with my
pencils, all things considered (i.e. I hadn’t drawn so many sequential pages in
long; the anxiety that comes from that, etc), having had the
luck to be joined with seasoned inker Mark
Pennington and DHC’s go-to colorist Michelle
Madsen. Although Michelle is a regular presence in the title, Mark had the difficult
task of bridging my tight and detailed pencils with the more expressive style
of regular artist Eric Nguyen, and doing it within a limited deadline.
Dark Horse Comic’s anti-hero X was created
back in the 90’s and it’s undoubtedly “a house built” by veteran writer Steven Grant; someone whom I much
admire and whose work I've appreciated since a teen (i.e. The Punisher), and actually feel specially close to, given it was
through a (unpublished) project of his that I made my very first comics
dollars, way back in 2003…! So, you better believe that, as soon as I could, I
let him know fate had crossed our paths again, by providing me the awesome
opportunity of debuting through a character he developed. Its legacy influenced has even modern phenomena, like videogame Assassin’s
Creed.

Em nota pessoal: Estou contente com o desenho, atendendo a certos
aspectos (i.e. que há muito não desenhava tanta prancha sequencial; a ansiedade que deriva disso, etc), tendo tido a sorte de
ser acompanhado pelo experiente
arte-finalista
Mark Pennington e colorista Michelle Madsen. A Michelle é presença regular
no título, mas o Mark teve a difícil tarefa de aproximar o meu desenho detalhado
ao estilo expressivo do artista regular Eric Nguyen, e dentro de prazos
limitados.
O anti-herói X da Dark Horse foi criado na década de 90 e é, sem dúvida,
"uma casa construída" pelo escritor veterano Steven Grant, alguém que
eu muito admiro e cujo trabalho aprecio desde jovem (i.e. O Justiceiro), e até me sinto particularmente próximo, visto que
foi através de um projecto (inédito) com ele que ganhei os meus primeiros dólares
a fazer BD, no ido 2003...! Por isso, podem crer que, logo que pude, fi-lo
saber que o nosso percurso a modos que se tinha cruzado novamente, ao me
proporcionar esta oportunidade incrível de me estrear através dum personagem por
ele desenvolvido. O seu legado influenciou até fenómenos modernos, como o videogame Assassins’s
Creed.
Espero que gostem da antevisão . Não deixem de ver o título – é um
número inspirado em Die Hard, repleto
de tensão e acção!
