2019: Aftermath / Rescaldo

Hello, everyone! We've made it – have a great 2020, with plenty of fulfilling culture and good reads :)
Starting out the new cycle, here's my traditional aftermath summary, has I've done in previous years: In 2019, I published a few works in the comics fanzines Outras Bandas #1 and TBDZ #186 & #187, plus illustrations in Origem(s) exhibit catalogue and in Chiaroscuro Studios' Yearbook: Grand Almanac of Brazilean Super-Heroes. I also started my first OGN in about a decade, titled Cobra, which was showcased in the collective exhibition “Portuguese Comics are Super!”, by Paulo Monteiro (Beja Comics Library director) and Camões Institute, that was featured in the 10th Brussels Comic Strip Festival and in Beja Cultural Center; the book will be published this year.
I also partook in other exhibits, such as "Geraldes Lino: Homage," at Museum Bordalo Pinheiro; "Origem(s): Arts Collective," at the Montijo Municipal Gallery; and "Geraldes Lino: Cameos," at the 30th Amadora BD/Amadora International Comics Festival.

As for general events, I had the good fortune of joining the jury for the popular 29th Young Creators awards, in the comics & illustration category, and contributed to the II Barreiro IlustraBD, where I signed authographs and presented Aurora Boreal vol.2, alongside one of my idols, veteran artist José Ruy, and attended the 6th Comic Con Portugal, in the Artists Alley arena.
But the year was mainly marked by the creation of Tágide, a comics informal collectivity for fans and creators, in my hometown Montijo; after presenting the initiative at 15th Beja International Comics Festival, along with the release of our comics anthology Outras Bandas #0, which I had the pleasure of publishing, we continued to hold bimonthly gatherings in our headquarters, and were present at the 30th AmadoraBD festival (with the release of Outras Bandas #1) and in December's Lisbon Comics Gathering (with the distribution of Tertúlia BDzine #187).

With two graphic novels to release in 2020, plus half a dozen short-comics in anthologies, I'm counting of your support over on that side! Have a great New Year!

Olá a todos! Aqui estamos – um grande 2020 para vocês, com muita boa cultura e excelentes leituras :)
A começar um novo ciclo, aqui fica o meu tradicional rescaldo em sumário, como tenho feito em anos recentes: Em 2019, eu publiquei alguns trabalhos nos fanzines Outras Bandas #1 e TBDZ #186 & #187, mais ilustrações no catálogo Origem(s) e no Yearbook: Grande Almanaque dos Super-Heróis Brasileiros, da Chiaroscuro Studios. Também iniciei a minha primeira novela gráfica em cerca de uma década, intitulada Cobra, que foi antevista na mostra colectiva “A BD Portuguesa é Super!”, pelo director da Bedeteca de Beja, Paulo Monteiro, e Instituto Camões, que figurou no 10º Festival BD de Bruxelas e Bedeteca de Beja; o livro será editado este ano.
Participei igualmente noutras mostras, tais como "Geraldes Lino: Homenagem," no Museu Bordalo Pinheiro; ou "Origem(s): Colectiva de Artes," na Galeria Municipal do Montijo; e "Geraldes Lino: Cameos," no 30º Amadora BD.

Quanto a eventos gerais, tive a sorte de me juntar ao júri do popular 29º Jovens Criadores, na categoria de BD & Ilustração, e contribuí para o II Barreiro IlustraBD, onde dei autógrafos e apresentei Aurora Boreal vol.2, ao lado de um dos meus idolos, o autor veterano José Ruy, e participei ainda no 6º Comic Con Portugal, na arena do Beco de Artistas.
Mas o ano foi principalmente marcado pela criação de Tágide, um colectivo informal de fãs e criadores de banda desenhada, na minha cidade-natal Montijo; depois de apresentar a iniciativa no 15º Festival Internacional BD de Beja, junto com a edição da nossa antologia Outras Bandas #0, que tive o prazer de editar, nós continuamos a encontrarmo-nos quinzenalmente na sede do grupo e marcámos presença no 30º Amadora BD (com o lançamento de Outras Bandas #1) e na Tertúlia BD de Lisboa de Dezembro (com a distribuição de Tertúlia BDzine #187).
 
Com duas novelas gráficas a puplicar em 2020, mais meia-dúzia de obras curtas por editar em antologias, conto com o vosso apoio desse lado! Um excelente Ano Novo!
