With
the challenge Ossadas do Ofício/Bones of the Trade about to end, the
informal group Tágide, which I'm a part of, has started a new
initiative to be carried out until the end of 2020: called Portuguese
Heroes, this project aims to celebrate (and remember!) the main
Portuguese comics characters and their creators, may those have
reached their peak in magazines from the previous century or been
popularized on the pages of books in this new millennium. The
initiative is also a way for the artists associated with the
collectivity to keep in contact in the face of the current social
isolation.
The
heroes' interpretations are published on Facebook by the authors and
in comics groups, and are then weekly compilated in publications on
the Tágide blog. Subsequently, there will be a compilation of the
project in the fanzine Outras Bandas.
For my part, I drew the first drawings back in August, starting with the first Portuguese superhero Captain Portugal, by Dias Pereira, followed by Copra, by Augusto Mota (writer) And Nelson Dias (artist), plus Franco the bum, by Pedro Brito.
