However, the week was also marked by another excellent news, that the student Patrícia Costa, from the 1st comics course Initiation to Sequential Art, in which I gave logistical assistance to teacher Susana Resende and also helped out the students, was the winner of the sole prize in the category A+ of the Portuguese Comics Award, promoted by the 29th AmadoraBD comics' festival! Patrícia, although a talented and dedicated artist, is also just a newcomer to comics, with this winning work being just her second comics story ever done, which is why we're so proud of her acchievement!
Congratulations also to students António Coelho and Mário André (also in the Category A+), and Shania Santos (in Category A), also finalists of the Comics Contest, whose works are exhibited at the festival until November 11th.
And as if these distinctions weren´t enough reason to be happy about, we have also caught the attention of the local newspaper, Diário da Região/Region's Daily, where we made the first page and where spotlighted in an article inside.
Como destaquei anteriormente, O Infante Portugal em Universos Reunidos venceu a categoria Melhor Obra Curta no XVI Troféus Central Comics, atingindo ainda uma excelente posição na consideração do prémio Melhor Publicação Independente. Transmitida a notícia, o portal partilhou agora o comunicado oficial com os resultados e estatísticas dos votos, assim como o grafismo alusivo ao troféu.
Entretanto, a semana foi ainda marcada por outra excelente notícia, de que a aluna Patrícia Costa, do 1º curso Iniciação à Arte Sequencial, no qual dei assistência logística à formadora Susana Resende e apoiei os alunos, foi a vencedora do prémio único da categoria A+ do Concurso Nacional de Banda Desenhada do 29º AmadoraBD! A Patrícia, embora uma talentosa e esmerada autora, é também uma estreante em banda desenhada, sendo esta apenas a sua 2ª obra de narrativa visual, pelo que ficamos orgulhosos no seu feito.
Parabéns também aos alunos António Coelho e Mário André (no Escalão A+), e Shania Santos (no Escalão A), igualmente finalistas do Concurso de BD, cujos trabalhos estão expostos no festival até 11 de Novembro.
E como se estas distinções não fossem motivos de orgulho o suficiente, tivemos ainda a atenção do jornal local, Diário da Região, onde fizemos a primeira-página e figurámos num artigo no interior.
